Technology Instructions
Turning Technology Clickers
You must register your clicker before you can use them in class. To do this:
- Go to the course (Astronomy) in Blackboard
- Click on "Tools" in the left-hand menu
- Click on "Turning Technologies Registration Tool"
- Select "ResponseCard" (we are NOT using ResponseWare)
- Enter the six character Device ID. You can find this on the back of your ResponseCard (clicker) below the bar code.
- Click Register. You should receive a message saying that the Device ID has successfully been registered.
Mastering Astronomy
The (required) homework will be on the Mastering Astronomy website. There will also be helpful tutorials and exam reviews on this site.
- Find the Course ID on Blackboard in the announcements. Do this first so you have it!
- Go to http://www.masteringastronomy.com
- Select "Student" under "Register Now" and follow the appropriate prompts. Some specific things that you should note:
* Select "Yes I have a Course ID". Enter the Course ID in the box.
* If you have already purchased the access code, select "Yes, I have an access code" and enter it. If you do NOT then you can purchase by selecting "No, I need to buy access". Be sure to select the correct textbook if you do this!
* If you already have a Pearson account, use that to sign in. Otherwise, create a new username and password.
* Fill out your Student ID! This is necessary to receive a grade.
